K − - Nucleus Scattering at Low and Intermediate Energies
نویسنده
چکیده
We calculate K −-nucleus elastic differential, reaction and total cross sections for different nuclei (12 C, 40 Ca and 208 Pb) at several laboratory antikaon momenta, ranging from 127 MeV (momentum of an antikaon produced in the φ-meson decay) to 800 MeV. We use different antikaon-nucleus optical potentials, some of them fitted to kaonic atom data, and study the sensitivity of the results to the considered antikaon-nucleus dynamics. The possibility of using the scattering data to disentangle between different optical potentials, fitted to K −-atom data, is discussed.

Relativistic microscopic description of proton-nucleus scattering at intermediate energies.
We study elastic proton-nucleus scattering at intermediate energies. The nucleon-nucleus optical potential is derived from the Bonn nucleon-nucleon potential and the Dirac-Brueckner approach for nuclear matter. Our calculations , which do not contain any adjustable parameters, yield good agreement with experiment.

2014 An effective nucleon-nucleon amplitude for bound nucleons taking into account medium effects such as Fermi motion and Pauli blocking has been derived from the Bethe-Goldstone equation, using a MonteCarlo simulation of a nucleon-nucleon collision in the nuclear medium. The obtained amplitude is local and density dependent. This amplitude has been used in a local density approximation to ana...
متن کاملNeutron scattering measurements at intermediate energies
The study of elastic neutron scattering at intermediate energies is essential for the understanding of the isovector term in the nucleon-nucleus interaction, as well as for the development of macroscopic and microscopic optical potentials at these energies. The techniques used for neutron scattering measurements is presented in this paper, as well as the di culties encountered. The few faciliti...
متن کاملA New Glauber Theory based on Multiple Scattering Theory
Glauber theory for nucleus-nucleus scattering at high incident energies is reformulated so as to become applicable also for the scattering at intermediate energies. We test validity of the eikonal and adiabatic approximations used in the formulation, and discuss the relation between the present theory and the conventional Glauber calculations with either the empirical nucleon-nucleon profile fu...
متن کاملPHOTON-NUCLEUS TOTAL CROSS SECTIONSt
Quantitative predictions for the energy and A dependence of the nuclear photoabsorption cross section and inelastic electron-nucleus scattering are given. In general each nucleon does not contribute equally to the total photon-nucleus cross section when coherent contributions of photoproduced hadrons are taken into account. At low energies (E Y N 1 BeV) the cross sections are proportional to nu...
